CBD FAQ

What is CBD?

CBD is a natural compound found in the cannabis plant, and it is one of the plant's major phytocannabinoids. It makes up to 40% of the plant's extract. Unlike THC, CBD does not typically cause intoxicating effects, though some people report mild psychoactivity. CBD may also dampen the effects of THC. CBD's raw form in the plant is cannabidiolic acid (CBDA), which becomes CBD after heating.

How does CBD work?

CBD works by interacting with various receptors in the human body. It offers potential benefits, such as promoting a positive mood and a sense of relaxation. Unlike THC, CBD does not cause psychoactive effects, making it a popular choice for those seeking a natural remedy.

How do I use CBD?

CBD is available in various forms, including oils, capsules, gummies, and topical creams. The best way to use CBD depends on individual preferences and the reason for use. It's important to start with a low dose and gradually increase to find the right amount.

How long does it take for CBD to work?

The time it takes for CBD to take effect varies depending on the method of consumption and individual factors like metabolism. Generally, CBD oil takes effect within 15-45 minutes when taken sublingually, while topical creams may take longer to work.

Should I give CBD to my dog?

There is currently no evidence that CBD is toxic to dogs. However, the correct dosage and potential interactions with other medications remain uncertain.

No CBD products have been authorised for use in animals in the UK. Consult your vet before trying CBD oil with your pet.

Legally, only your vet can prescribe a legal human CBD product for your dog.
